NEWTOWN, CT — It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of our beautiful princess warrior, Kaia Elizabeth Lauro. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her Mommy, Daddy and family on Oct. 28.
Kaia was born in Greenwich on June 11, 2015 to Brian and Heather Lauro. She was a student at Head O’ Meadow Elementary School as well as an equestrian with One Above Farm. She loved all things horse related, was a master seamstress and an amazing student. Kaia also prided herself on being a wonderful friend and a perfect sister to her brother cat Ollie. If you asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up, she would tell you a doctor, a nurse, a horse instructor, an acrobat, a chef or a waiter. We told her you can do it all!

Kaia will be remembered as the brightest light in the room. To know her was to adore her. Her joy for life radiated from within her and was felt by all around her. Her positive spirit was contagious and her laugh was infectious. She fought her medical battle with the tenacity of lion and all the while displayed nothing but grace, dignity and positivity that lifted anyone around her. For all she dealt with, she never complained once. She is a superhero like none we have ever known.
Her legacy of courage, strength and bravery will live on forever in our hearts. She will always be with us, guiding us as she always has. She is our greatest gift and we are all better humans to have known her. It’s time for her to go now be a child free from worry albeit the loss we feel is immeasurable. We must focus on celebrating her memory always.
