Obituary: Steve Alves, 40, Of Newtown

Steve was an adventurous soul who loved cars and racing, off-roading and fishing, as well as traveling the world.

NEWTOWN, CT — On the night of March 24, Steve Alves lost his life to injuries sustained in a car accident in New Milford.

A resident of Newtown, Steve was born and raised in Danbury, where he attended Henry Abbott Technical High School and graduated from the automotive program. He went on to work for Sperry Rail and was most recently at Kimberly-Clark in New Milford, where he was a planner and manager.

Steve was an adventurous soul who loved cars and racing, off-roading and fishing, as well as traveling the world. He was outgoing, fiercely funny, and well-liked by all who knew him.He is survived by his loving partner Alexandra Pelletier and their niece Raeanne Yeomans; his parents José O. and Virginia Alves; his paternal grandmother Cidalia Oliva; his maternal grandmother Maria Cecilia Fernandes Casto; his maternal grandfather Antonio DeAlmeida; his uncle and godfather Arlindo Almeida; his sister and her husband, Cidalia and Robert Kettles and his nieces A. and S. Kettles as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his aunt and godmother Angela Sequenzia, and his paternal grandfather José Alves.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown, CT.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, April 14 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Pius X in Fairfield.
