OPINION: Tony Hwang is Good for CT, Economic, Environmental and Public Health

Tony Hwang is Senate candidate for the 28th District, which includes the towns of Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston, and Westport.

To the Editor:

As a Fairfield resident concerned with the balance between fiscal responsibility, good government, and long term environmental and public health, I believe we need to elect State legislators who will be creative, smart, listen, learn the facts and fight for our community on important issues.Tony Hwang has represented our community well: he takes an issues-oriented, nonpartisan approach, and is very responsive to local residents.

He is extremely active in the local community and I see him often attending community events and listening to residents’ concerns so he can represent us in Hartford. Our long term environmental health is connected to our long term economic and public health — all these areas are of equal importance and all are interrelated.

As an advocate and attorney who has been engaged in environmental issues and active in town government as a member of Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting, I am pleased that Tony has received the CT League of Conservation Voters endorsement for environmental leadership.More importantly, he can get things done, as opposed to just giving lip service to getting things done.

We need someone who works on a bipartisan level, and will listen to our community concerns.

We need someone who is honest and open and this is Tony.Tony has shown through his actions, both in Hartford and locally, his dedication and commitment to our long term health. This is what sets Tony apart from his opponent.

Please vote for Tony Hwang on Nov. 4.
