The project includes a new asphalt court next to an existing playground at the facility.
NEWTOWN, CT — Plans for a new outdoor basketball court at Fairfield Hills have been approved during an April 2 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
The project calls for the construction of an asphalt court adjacent to the existing playground at the Newtown Community Center campus.
The proposed court is expected to measure approximately 84 feet by 50 feet.

Matt Ariniello, director of the Newtown Community Center, said the court will primarily be used for childcare programming but will also be available to the public during off-hours.
Additional parking has already been addressed at the site, with 22 new spaces added near the playground last year, he said.
