Outgoing Newtown Football Coach Has High Praise for Successor

Robert Pattison will take over as head coach.

NEWTOWN, CT — Outgoing head Newtown High School football coach Steve George said his successor Robert Pattison was a good choice.

George didn't have involvement picking his successor, but said Pattison is a good teacher and person and a good mentor to athletes, according to the News-Times.

Pattison has been an assistant football coach for seven years, four of which he served as defensive coordinator.

George is a teacher in the business and applied arts department at the high school.
