Married, Husband John Fletcher 4 children ; Jamison, Jackson, Hudson and Hayden ; 2 rescue dogs Nutmeg and Fergus

No

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

Yes, I was elected for 2 terms to the Legislative Council District 2 from 2017-2021. I am currently serving as an appointed member to the Community Center Commission in Newtown.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I believe in public service and my 4 years on the council were an honor and a privilege. I want to bring that experience to bear on the issues facing Newtown today.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Education has always been a priority for me and my family. I believe we need to make sure that we are investing in our schools and at the same time doing everything we can to keep Newtown affordable. I intend to do this by working together with the council and other elected boards and commissions to make decisions that benefit our community at large.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have 4 years prior experience on the legislative council and a record of effective leadership.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

I believe all members who serve in elected office in Newtown do their best to serve the community.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Economic Development, Encouraging more woman to participate in local government, Promoting responsible environmental Stewardship.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

As previously noted my 2 terms on the Legislative Council.
