NEWTOWN, CT — The 2023 municipal election is heating up in Newtown and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Stay-at-home mom and small business owner Tiffany Hawley, 41, is running for election to the Newtown Zoning Board of Appeals as a Republican. Her husband Robert and daughter Eva have lived in town for ten years, active in CERT and volunteer at their local church.

Why are you seeking this office?

I want to serve my community in a way that helps maintain the inviting appeal to both families and business's and keep the small town charm.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I have three years of practical Zoning Board of Appeals experience to bring to the table with active participation and 100% attendance.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

The skills of volunteering in my community from youth action council, EMS, CERT, church activities and currently in the position as Alternate in Zoning Board of Appeals.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

Take time to think and reflect over decisions and actions.
