We asked our Facebook fans and Newtown Patch contributors if they had to compile a list of most romantic restaurants what would be on it. Here are some of their top picks:

— , 97 S. Main St.: This restaurant, which, received by far the most number of recommendations by Newtown Patch Facebook fans. This weekend the restaurant features some specials, which Adria Henderson describes in .

— , 160 S. Main St.: A popular destination on Mother's Day and other holidays, this Italian restaurant, which received a couple of nods from Facebook fans, also offers a special Valentine's Day menu.

— 838 Main St., Monroe: Once opened in Newtown, this eatery is now in Monroe where it still boasts a loyal following. Among its specialities are the made-to-order-at-the-table guacamole and wide selection of drinks, especially tequila.

— 19 Main St.: Even the name itself embodies an element of romance. Situated in a 200-year-old converted colonial, The Inn is a favorite among many locals. In her Valentine's Day article, Adria Henderson recommends ending the night with a leisurely after-dinner drink at The Inn.

— JKoo Neo Cuisine & Bar, 266 S. Main St: This newly opened restaurant didn't make it to the top of any Newtown Patch Facebook fan picks, but Moms Talk contributors Lauren Milano, Adria Henderson and Lee Elkins had some good things to say about the fresh food and nice ambiance, including at the bar area. It might be worth checking out. Sometimes romance starts with the new kid on the block.
