Pistol-Packing Police Pretender Nabbed In Newtown: PD
The Rockland County motorist was "traveling at approximately 110 mph in a clearly marked 65 mph speed zone" according to Newtown police.
NEWTOWN, CT — Police charged an armed Rockland County man with impersonating an officer after pulling him over for speeding last week.
Newtown police reported they saw the 24-year-old motorist traveling at approximately 110 mph in a clearly marked 65 mph speed zone on Interstate-84. He was "passing and weaving in and out of traffic in an aggressive manner," according to Newtown Police Lt. Liam Seabrook.
The driver was also in possession of a handgun, without a Connecticut Pistol Permit, and his vehicle was outfitted with red and blue strobe lights, as well as an operational siren, according to Seabrook.

Police charged the motorist with impersonation of a police officer, carrying a pistol without a permit, reckless driving, unsafe passing, failure to drive in the proper lane, and violation of window tinting regulations. He was released after posting 7 percent of a $5,000 bail, and scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 11.
