Police Blotter, Dec. 13 - 16

Barnabas Road: A Chevrolet pickup, operated by John F. Maher, Jr., 64, of 17 Papoose Hill Road, backed up onto a Saturn, driven by Cindy Manning, 51, of 4 Sweet Meadow Road, at about 8:10 a.m., Wednesday by Barnabas and Hawleyville roads, police said. Police did not report injuries. Maher was issued a written warning for unsafe backing.

Berkshire Road: A Toyota, driven by Anita Harris, 66, of 53 Boulevard Road, rear-ended a Lexus, operated by Kelly Wolf, 49, of 44 Bradley Lane on Berkshire Road by Bradley Lane at about 5:10 p.m., Monday, police said. Both were taken to Danbury Hospital for complaint of pain, police said. Harris was issued a summons for following too close.

Boggs Hill Road: A silver Acura TL car, parked at Head O' Meadow School on Boggs Hill Road during the day last Wednesday, was struck on the rear passenger side, police disclosed Sunday. Anyone who witnessed the accident may call Officer Liam Seabrook at 203-426-5841.

Church Hill Road: A Ford, operated by Maureen R. Jordan, 65, of 66 Jefferson Lane, Wilkes-Barre, PA, collided with a Honda, operated by Lawrence A. Passaro, 62, of 10 Flat Swamp Road, on Church Hill Road in front of the Blue Colony Diner at about 5:30 p.m., Monday, police said. Police reported no injuries. Jordan was issued a verbal warning for failure to grant right of way.

Church Hill Road: A Nissan, operated by Scott Lametto, 44, of 49 Mile Hill Road, collided with a Chrysler, operated by Robert Silvaggi, 63, of 35 1/2 Old Bridge Road, Brookfield, in front of 19 Church Hill Road at about 7:45 a.m., Tuesday, police said. Lametto, whom police said was pulling out of a driveway, was issued a written warning for failure to grant right of way. Police did not report injuries.

Church Hill Road: A Ford sport utility vehicle, operated by John F. Schrepferman, 81, of 407A Heritage Village Road, Southbury, collided with a Mazda, operated by Christopher U. Capozza, 29, of 41 Jeremiah Road, as the SUV tried to turn into 66 Church Hill Road at about 9:15 a.m., Monday, police said. Schrepferman was issued an infraction for failure to carry enough insurance.

Church Hill Road: A Buick, operated by Margaret Parsons, 83, of 12 Stone Fence Lane, collided with a Chevrolet, driven by Kathleen Moseman, 36, of 1 Clearview Drive, as it pulled out of the driveway of 19 Church Hill Road at about 12:20 p.m., Tuesday, police said. Parsons was issued a verbal warning for failure to grant right of way. Police reported no injuries.

Key Rock Road: After Ahileas Fotinopoulos, 50, of Abbots Hill Road, Newtown, halted at the stop sign on Key Rock Road at Sugar Street and inched forward to check for oncoming traffic, his car was struck in the rear by a car driven by Philip J. Vickers, 50, of Wentworth Drive, Newtown, at 1:22 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, police reported Dec. 30. Vickers was given a written warning for following too closely. Neither driver was hurt.

Main Street (police department): Kurt Brink, 49, 15 Francis Road, Danbury, was charged on Wednesday with reckless driving, failure to drive a reasonable distance apart with intent to harrass or intimidate and illegal use of high-beam headlights in connection with a Nov. 27 incident that occurred three municipalities, Danbury, Bethel and Newtown, police said. Brink was released on $100 bond and is to appear Jan. 4 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

South Main Street: A Nissan, operated by Gary Hanson, 65, of 26 Huntingtown Road, lost control and went off the northbound shoulder after the driver's side front wheel broke off the vehicle in front of 123 Main St., at about 9:30 a.m., Monday, police said. Police reported no injuries.

South Main Street: A Toyota, operated by Janice DiVasto, 48, of 11 Highwood Place, Trumbull, rear-ended Chrysler, operated by Terri L. Scinto, 46, of 37 High Rock Road, which in term rear-ended Lexus, operated by Jay E. McDougall, 38, of 3 Jacobs Lane, on South Main Street by Homestead Lane at about 8:30 a.m., Thursday, police said. DiVasto was issued an infraction for following too closely.
