Police Investigate 'Hate' Propaganda Flyers Distributed In Newtown
"We will not tolerate any hate crime in this community," Newtown Police Chief David Kullgren said.
NEWTOWN, CT — The Newtown Police Department is investigating "hate"-related flyers, distributed anonymously, similar to the literature left in neighboring towns.
In Trumbull, flyers containing hateful propaganda were recently left at the end of several residential driveways in town, according to police. The flyers were left in plastic baggies containing small rocks at the end of several residential driveways, they said.
There were two reported incidents of such flyers being left in Newtown Monday night, according to Chief David Kullgren.

In response, the NPD will be co-hosting a Department of Justice/United Against Hate, community training event at the Newtown Community Center on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. The program is designed to educate communities on identifying, reporting, and preventing hate crimes, according to Kullgren.
"We will not tolerate any hate crime in this community and are working with our community partners to ensure that this is the case," Kullgren said.
