Police Nab Newtown Man On Child Porn & Voyeurism Charges
The police took James A. Matheson, 47, of Newtown, into custody on Thursday, warning of the possibility of additional charges.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police have arrested a Newton man on multiple child endangerment charges.
On Thursday, July 18, detectives from the Seymour Police Department took James A. Matheson, 47, into custody at the Milford Superior Court, where he was later arraigned.
Matheson was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, voyeurism with malice, disseminating voyeuristic material, and risk of injury to a child. He was held on a court set bond of S250,000.

The investigation into Matheson is still open and ongoing, and there is a possibility of additional charges forthcoming. Detectives are working with other jurisdictions, some out of state, to identify victims and recover evidence, according to the Seymour Police Department.
