This has been a very rainy few weeks and our homes are taking a real hit. You need to walk around your home and check the exterior. Are you gutters working and is the water being diverted from the house. Is water puddling? I recently sold a home and the inspection failed because of water damage caused by faulty flashing and gutters. The hard steady rain is the perfect time to do a tour interior and exterior. Do not get a surprise you do not want. A little prevention goes a long long way. Not all wet basements are fixed easy but when I see it could of been prevented by a simple fix with gutters I see dollars going down the drain on value.
