Sandy Hook Principal Dawn Hochsprung to be Awarded Posthumous Degree

Hochsprung was working toward a doctorate, but her dream was cut short after being killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting.

Sandy Hook Principal Dawn Hochsprung was working toward a doctorate degree with aspirations of becoming a superintendent when she was murdered in the 2012 shooting along with 25 other victims.

Hochsprung died in an attempt to protect students. She will be awarded a posthumous doctorate degree at The Sage Colleges Eseves School of Education in Troy, N.Y. on Saturday, according to the Hartford Courant.

The 27-month program had students in class Friday night and all-day Saturday along with extra assignments.
