Sandy Hook Teacher Who Saved Students Coming Out With Book

Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis hid students from the shooter. She is coming out with a book about not letting the event define her life.

Former Sandy Hook teacher Kaitlin M. Roig-DeBellis is coming out with her book “Choosing Hope: Moving Forward from Life’s Darkest Hours,” which will goes on sale Oct. 6.

She taught at Sandy Hook Elementary School for six years beginning in 2007 and hid her children during the 2012 shooting that left 20 children and six adults dead.

“Life is all about choice,” she told People Magazine. “The choice is each of ours alone to make. That’s really powerful, especially with dealing with the hard stuff.”
