Sen. Tony Hwang on Aug. 24 visited Newtown High School to honor the school’s “Teacher of the Year”, Jason Edwards. Sen. Hwang presented Edwards with an official state citation in recognition of Edwards’ achievement.

Sen. Hwang commended Edwards on his dedication to educational excellence and for being a role model for students and teachers alike by thinking independently and engaging in thoughtful dialogue to reinforce a lifelong love of learning. Sen. Hwang thanked all of the teachers in attendance during the presentation for their efforts as well.
