State Police Nab Newtown Fugitive In Waterbury

A Newtown man who had eluded police since August was apprehended Wednesday in Waterbury.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Newtown man whom police said fled the scene of a traffic stop on Route 8 in Waterbury on Aug. 30 has been apprehended and charged.

Connecticut State Police picked up Todd Pleasants, 34, in Waterbury on Nov. 13, shortly before 11 a.m. The arrest warrant charged him with criminal impersonation, interfering with an officer/resisting arrest, disobeying a signal from police, reckless driving, and driving with a suspended with a suspended license.

Pleasants was held on a $25,000 court set bond and turned over to the custody of the Judicial Marshals for same day arraignment at Waterbury Superior Court.
