State's Largest Business Organization Endorses Tony Hwang for CT Senate

Connecticut Business & Industry Association endorses Tony Hwang for State Senate.

Press release:

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the state’s largest business organization, has endorsed Tony Hwang for election to the state Senate, representing the 28th District.

“It’s critical to elect legislators who will make the tough decisions necessary to improve the economy, grow jobs, invest in transportation, and make Connecticut a better place to do business,” said Joe Brennan, CBIA executive vice president. “We’re pleased to endorse Tony Hwang for election to the Connecticut State Senate.”

“I am proud to have the CBIA’s endorsement, given that they represent thousands of businesses, especially small businesses, many right here in our own community,” Hwang said. “Our local entrepreneurs are such an important part of the community and so key to our community’s financial health.”

“Jobs and the economy are consistently the top topic of conversation as I talk with voters throughout the 28th District,” Hwang said. “But this isn’t just about jobs; it’s about our families and our children, our friends and neighbors. It’s about coming up with real solutions to create jobs and help businesses succeed — real solutions like eliminating nearly 1,000 pages of bureaucratic red tape that were holding small businesses back and stifling entrepreneurs; securing investments for advanced manufacturing education; and spearheading legislation that will make Connecticut a world leader in bioscience research.”

Is there still work to do to make our great state more business friendly?

“Absolutely,” Hwang said. “Among other things, we need to come up with common sense solutions to address the high cost of doing business in Connecticut. We must also make the necessary investments to ensure we have a safe and reliable transportation infrastructure, which is critical to sustaining a healthy economy.”

Currently in his 3rd term in the Connecticut General Assembly House of Representatives for the 134th District, which encompasses portions of Fairfield and Trumbull, state Rep. Tony Hwang is the ranking leader in the Government Administration and Elections Committee and a member of Public Safety & Security Committee and the Insurance and Real Estate Committee. He is a state Senate candidate for the 28th District, which includes the towns of Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston, and Westport.
