Three Sent to Hospital Following Crash in Newtown
Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue responded to the crash on Wednesday afternoon.

Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company spent nearly 90 minutes responding to the scene of a three car accident on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash took place at the intersection of Bennetts Bridge Road Berkshire Road, the company announced on Facebook.
According to the fire and rescue company, three vehicles were involved in the incident, which occurred just after 4 p.m. and involved two sedans and one SUV. The roof of one vehicle, a Saab, had to be completely removed so that firefighters could extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Three people were transported to the hospital by Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
The accident affected traffic before and well into the afternoon rush hour, but the roadway was closed only for a brief time.
