Thunder World Series Slideshow

Named New England Regional Champion, Newtown Thunder went down to Ocala, FL to participate in the Cal Ripken World Series for 10-year-olds. From opening ceremonies to the last game, the boys' parents and friends have been photographing their every move.

Win or lose, the boys said they will remember the experience for the rest of their lives.

On Tuesday, the Thunder played its fourth and last game in the World Series against a team from Northwest Bakersfield, CA, during which Newtown's Lucas O'Brien hit a three-run home run in the top of the second inning.The close game ended wih the California team winning 8-6.

Connor Barrett also had two hits, including a double; Adam Bergeron had a double; Sam Grossan had two hits while Ben Dieckman and Jason Hebener each had one. Ben Harrison and Hebner each recorded a run-batted-in.

Dieckman pitched two innings, Hebner three and O'Brien one.
