Town Accepts Land Donation for Sandy Hook Memorial: Report
The town has agreed to accept a land donation for the memorial to honor those killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting of 2012.

SANDY HOOK, CT — Town officials have agreed to accept a donation of land which will be the location of Sandy Hook memorial, reports the News Times.
The five-acre property off Riverside Road would be donated under to the town Sandy under the agreement between the Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Commission and the owners of the Sports Athletic Club. The property backs up to Treadwell Park and the new Sandy Hook School.
The group had originally planned for the memorial to be located at the Fairfield Hills campus, but the group opted to seek another location due to environmental concerns. The Riverside Road site had was first thought to be too close to the school, but commission members felt more comfortable as they walked the property.

The commission consists of parents of children killed on 12/14.
