Vehicle Leaves Road In Newtown, Emergency Crews Respond

Fire officials said the crash happened Friday, prompting a response from Hook & Ladder and ambulance crews.

NEWTOWN, CT — Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash in Newtown just after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, according to the Newtown Hook & Ladder Volunteer Fire Department.

Officials said one vehicle left the roadway. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps also responded and evaluated the driver, fire officials said.

Hook & Ladder reminded residents that temporary road closures and traffic delays are sometimes necessary while crews operate at active emergency scenes.

“We understand that detours and delays can be frustrating,” the department said in a Facebook post. “These measures allow us to provide the highest level of care to our patients while also protecting first responders and preventing additional injuries.”
