Word to Describe Ballet: Passion
Reflection about Ballet: Every (summer) morning I wake up, I stretch. Then I do barre, class, and variations. By then it's three p.m. and I jog. I would give anything to dance perfectly, to have the body of a ballerina, and to be amazing on pointe. That's why I practice so much, because ballet is my life. My passion. My social life. My family. Ballet is my all. Malenkee is what brings the lungs to ballet. Ballet could live without it but it would be choked and difficult. Malenkee means giving back to the community that's supported us so much. I want to be a part of (the company) because it's more than a class; it bonds us together through performing and giving back. It's about breathing the life of ballet into people who have been depressed, showing them there is a light in the dark.
I have to say my best dancing moment would be Nutcracker 2012. I was sitting behind the screen behind stage completely freaking out. So many thoughts jumbled through my head. "What will happen?" "Will I fall?" "What if I mess up?" Suddenly a horrific pain shot to my leg (this would be the injury that caused a month break from dance). The shock and empty feeling kicked in. I could barely walk. My friends were there to support me, and they convinced me to go on stage. I limped over to the curtain, my heart beating like a thousand drums. All I can say is I danced. No one said I did it well, but I came through. I proved to myself that nothing, not a thing, can stop the passion of a dancer.
