Violation of Protective Orders Top Newtown Police Blotter

NEWTOWN, CT — Newtown police recently charged two men with violating protective orders.
On Aug. 16, Michael Genovese, of Strongtown Road in Southbury, turned himself in to the Newtown Police Department on an arrest warrant. Police charged Genovese with violation of a protective order and second-degree harassment. Genovese was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Aug. 19, and released from NPD custody after posting a $1,400 bond.
On Aug. 26, at 9:17 p.m., Newtown Police Officers were dispatched to a residence at Covered Bridge Road for a report of a domestic disturbance. Following their investigation, officers took Shawn Clarke, 50, into custody.

Police brought Clarke to Newtown PD headquarters and charged him with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and violation of a protective order.
Clarke was released from police custody on his written promise to appear at Danbury Superior Court the next day.
