Weekend Police Blotter, Feb. 4 - 6

Police issue news releases for motor vehicle and other incidents.

Berkshire Road: ()

Berkshire Road: An Audi, operated by Maureen M. Chuga, 61, of 30 Greenwood Drive, Monroe, collided with Acura Integra, operated by Steven R. Schmidt, 23, of 61 Great Quarter Road, at about 10:10 p.m., Friday at the intersection of Berkshire and Paugusett roads, police said. Police reported no injuries. Chuga was issued a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign.

Buttonshop Road: An Audi, operated by Thomas Mapes, 45, of 82 Toddy Hill Road, traveling west on Buttonshop Road near the sand quarry by South Main Street collided with a Ford Escape, operated by Jennifer Wilson, 29, of 149 Toddy Hill Road, which was heading in the opposite direction at about 10:25 a.m., Saturday, police said. Both were taken to Danbury Hospital with injuries police did not specify. The case remains under investigation, police said.

Church Hill Road: A Porshe Cayene, operated by Chelsa Lamorte, 29, of 55 Mill Plain Road, rear-ended a Jeep Wrangler, operated by Kimberly M. Testo, 24, of 148 Wilcox Road, Milford, in front of 29 Church Hill Road at about 4:20 p.m., Friday, police said. Police reported no injuries. Lamorte was issued an infraction for following too closely.

Elm Drive: Sean Dauber, 39, of 16 Greenbow St., Waterbury, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating with suspended license following a motor vehicle stop on Elm Drive at about 12 p.m., Friday, police said. He was released on a $250 bond and was to appear Feb. 18 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Gray's Plain Road: A Ford F-350 pickup, operated by Michael Dolyak, 47, of 17 Osborne Hill Road, had its driver's side mirror struck by a driver's side mirror of a Ford F-150, operated by Michael P. Lapua, 25, of 214 Hattertown Road, on Gray's Plain Road at about 7:15 a.m., Friday, police said. Police reported no injuries and no enforcement action was taken.

Great Ring Road: A Volkswagen, operated by Marissa Lindquist, 18, of 427 Hammertown Road, Monroe, had its driver's side mirror collided with that of a Honda Accord, operated by Elisa Headford, 39, of 72 Great Quarter Road at about 11:20 a.m., Saturday on Great Ring Road, police said.  Police reported no injuries and issued a verbal warning to Lindquist for traveling too fast for conditions.

Little Brook Lane: A Honda Odyssey, operated by Yehiel Gazoli, 52, of 20 West St., had its driver's side mirror collide with that of a Chevrolet pickup, operated by Drew McDougall, 35, of 242 Placid Ave., Stratford, on Little Brook Lane at about 9:40 a.m., Friday, police said. Police reported no injuries and no enforcement action was taken.

Main Street (police department): Mary Kate Dyer, 41, of 2 Old Castle Hill Road, was charged with following too close and giving a false report to police in connection with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Main Street and Church Hill Road at about 5 p.m., Friday, police said. She turned herself in at the police department after being contacted about the accident, police said. She was released on a $50 bond and is to appear Feb. 18 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

Pole Bridge Road: An MTM school bus, operated by William Belward, of Newtown, carrying students had its driver's side rear view mirror collide with that of a pickup vehicle that did not stop after the collision on Pole Bridge Road at about 7:30 a.m., Friday, police said. No injuries were reported and no damage was done to the school bus, police said. The roadway was made narrow due to the snow on the shoulder.

Pole Bridge Road: A Ford Focus, operated by Ana Christina Padalino-Bush, 20, of 6E Beach St., Bethel, lost control and slid into a snow bank on Pole Bridge Road by Bancroft Road at about 11:45 a.m., Saturday, police said. Police reported no injuries. She was issued a verbal warning for restricted turn.

South Main Street: A Toyota Rav4, operated by Marilyn Rennaqel, 67, of 159 Currituck Road, rear-ended an Acura, operated by Gamaliel Bones, 23, of Bridgeport, in front of 151 S. Main St., at about 12:40 p.m., Sunday, police said. Bones was taken to Danbury Hospital with unspecified injuries, police said. Rennaqel was issued an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

South Main Street: Steven Champagne, 28, of 1568 Meriden Road, Waterbury, was charged with second-degree failure to appear and operating under suspension on Sunday in connection with an arrest warrant Bridgeport police issued following a June 29, 2006 in their jurisdiction, Newtown police said. The warrant came to light after Champagne became involved in a motor vehicle accident in the area of South Main Street and Swamp Road in Newtown on Sunday, police said. He was released on $300 bond and is to appear Feb. 23 in state Superior Court in Bridgeport.

Sugar Street: A Toyota Tundra, operated by John Kortze, 44, of 52 Cobblers Mill Road, rear-ended a Cadillac Seville, operated by James Canzio, 48, of 5 Todds Road, on Sugar Street at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. The Seville had stopped to turn onto 55 Sugar St., police said. An occupant in Canzio said she sustained back pain in the collision, police said. Kortze was issued an infraction for following too closely.

Tunnel Road: Joshua Adams, 19, of 36 Tunnel Road, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening in connection with a domestic dispute 2:20 a.m., Sunday, police said. He was held on $500 bond and is to appear Monday in state Superior Court in Danbury.
