Weekend Police Blotter, Oct. 29 - 31

Castle Hill Road: Newtown police is investigating multiple instances of mailbox vandalism between Friday and Saturday in the area of Castle Hill and Taunton Hill roads, police said. Anyone with information on the incidents are asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.

Cedar Circle: An all-terrain Honda vehicle, operated by a juvenile, collided into the passenger side of a Mercedes-Benz as the ATV went off of the front yard of 41 Brushy Hill Road and onto the roadway at Cedar Circle at about 10:30 a.m., Saturday, police said. The juvenile was issued an infraction for operating an unregistered all-terrain vehicle. Police reported no injuries. Police did not identify the juvenile.

Currituck Road: A Honda, operated by Alexandra Fuentes, of 7 Autumn Ridge Road, struck a deer at about 11 p.m., Friday, police said. No injuries were reported and no enforcement taken, police said.

Miya Lane: Police are investigating several instances of vandalism at residences in the area of Miya Lane sometime after midnight Sunday, police said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.

Riverside Road: Thomas W. Murphy, 52, of 51 Laurel Trail, was charged with restricted turn, driving under the influence, operating without insurance and failure to renew registration at about 1:14 a.m., Saturday after police found him sitting in a Jeep Cherokee in a ditch off the westbound shoulder, facing eastbound, by 87 Riverside Road as he was trying to get the vehicle into gear, police said. Murphy was released on $100 bond and is to appear Nov. 16 in state Superior Court in Danbury.

South Main Street: A Honda sport utility vehicle, driven by Gina P. Fenaroli, 20, of 63 Tomahawk Trail, rear-ended a Toyota, operated by David S. Hyde, 18, of 3 Owl Ridge, by South Main Street and Park Lane at about 10:45 a.m., Sunday, police said. Fenaroli was issued an infraction for following too closely. Police reported no injuries.

South Main Street: A Jeep, operated by Bruce Scheider, 59, of 61 W. Grand St., Mount Vernon struck a deer at about 10:35 p.m., Sunday by South Main Street and Bryan Lane, police said. Police reported no injuries and no enforcement taken.

South Main Street: An Acura, driven by Brian E. Abbott, 3 Bonnie Brae Drive, collided with a Mazda, driven by Robert Jeffrey, 25, of 6 Capital Drive, as each vehicle, coming from opposite directions, tried to turn onto Country Club Road from South Main Street at about 4:30 p.m., Friday, police said. Abbott was issued a verbal warning for restricted turn. Police did not report injuries.
