2 North Branford Police Officers Win 'Life-Saving Award'

Two North Branford police officers are being lauded for saving a patient's life in December.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Two police officers earned awards from the North Branford Police Commission for saving a patient's life.

Police received a 911 call for a medical emergency Dec. 8 regarding an unresponsive person.

"Within a minute of dispatch Detective Robert Deko arrived on scene followed by Officer Cunningham a minute later," police wrote in a Facebook post. "Both officers are certified EMT's and are part of the NBPD supplemental medical response team.

"Det. Deko and Officer Cunningham located a 35 year old female who was unresponsive and they immediately performed life saving measures. They continued these measures until NBFD paramedics on scene. Det. Deko and Officer Cunnigham were instrumental in saving the patients life, therefore they are being awarded the "Life Saving Award". (Det. Deko pictured)."
