Seems like people are curious about what's its like to live in Northford these days since the cicadas have come out of hibernation. I can tell you its interesting - I have larvae cases and adults all OVER my front lawn and bushes. Yuck! The noise is interesting as well - it is a nonstop background hum/vibration that goes on and on...
However, there are some types of wildlife that enjoy the cicadas - as a snack! The starlings and robins for sure but I saw a chipmunk sitting on my front walkway, eating one just like you would eat an apple.
While I am waiting for cheer season to start up again, I did make a few more quilts. One is composed of batik fabrics and is a wedding gift. Another is a 60 Degree braid quilt that I made for the Touchdown club fall fundraiser. The third is a wall hanging I did for a swap that was inspired by all my blooming double bearded irises.
Enjoy the start of summer!
