North Branford Firefighters Fight, Knock Down Late Night Sunday Ledgewood Drive Residential Fire: NBFD

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Sunday night just after 10 p.m., North Branford Fire Department Company 1 was dispatched to Ledgewood Drive for the reported fire in the living room, officials said.

When firefighters arrived, there was "heavy fire from the second floor of a raised ranch with initial reports that all occupants were out of the structure," fire officials said.

Just eight minutes after being dispatched, Engine 1, with a crew of six, "Established a positive water supply."

"Crews initially placed two lines in service and knocked down the majority of the fire," the department noted. "Crews from all three fire companies fought heavy clutter and deep-seated fire." The fire scene was brought the fire under control just after midnight.

Mutual aid coverage was provided by our mutual aid partners from the Branford, Wallingford and East Haven fire departments.

The last unit cleared the scene at 05:30 a.m. Monday.

There were no injuries reported from this incident; the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the North Branford Fire Marshal's Office
