NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Tuesday morning, Gov. Ned Lamont is set to celebrate the recent purchase of land in North Branford that has been designated as open space and is now open to the public for recreational uses.
The property at the intersection of Beech Street and Pomps Lane totals 37 acres and was part of the Regional Water Authority's Lake Gaillard reservoir lands.
The property was purchased by the North Branford Land Conservation Trust with the assistance of a $385,450 state grant from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's Open Space and Watershed Land Acquisition Grant Program.

Lamont is slated to hold a press event along with DEEP Acting Commissioner Emma Cimino, North Branford town officials, and members of the North Branford Land Conservation Trust at the site's parking lot at 149 Beech St. at 11 a.m.
