NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Wednesday morning, the town begins the next phase of its annual road maintenance program, according to Town Manager Rory Burke.

This phase will consist of micro surfacing on Ashley Park, Cinnamon Ridge Drive, Holy-Mar Hill Road, Lower Oxbow Lane, Autumn Court, and Augur Road Extension, he said.

"The contractor will be working from north to south but may change the order of work if circumstances dictate," he said.

According to Burke, work, which begins at 7 a.m. each day, will alternate lanes and is scheduled to be finished by the end of the week but may extend into next week if issues arise.

"Residents in the impacted areas will have access to their homes except for brief delays," Burke said.

In his post to Facebook late Tuesday morning, Burke asked impacted residents to "ensure any cars parked on the road are removed at this time, and ensure all lawn sprinklers are turned off."

What is micro surfacing?

Burke explains: Micro surfacing is a fast, economical method for prolonging the life of roadways by spreading a layer of fine aggregates and asphalt emulsions on the road surface. It is a new technique the Town is using to ensure we extend the life of roadways as long as possible to make sure your tax dollars are used as efficiently and effectively as possible for road maintenance.

Questions or concerns should be directed to Town Engineer, Christopher Holden, at cholden@northbranfordct.gov or (203) 484-6009.
