NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Two teens inside a stolen vehicle crashed at a high rate of speed, police said. The car overturned, and the teens were thrown from the vehicle, police said.

At 3:48 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 900 block of Totoket Road following a report of two individuals dressed in dark clothing allegedly attempting to enter vehicles, police said.

During the incident, officers saw a black Chrysler 300 traveling at a "high rate of speed" south on Totoket Road, police said.

This vehicle crashed and overturned near the 400 block of Totoket Road, ejecting both people, police said. The two individuals, ages 17 and 18, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for further treatment, police said.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from Seymour earlier in the week. This incident remains under investigation, with criminal charges pending, police added.

Police are asking residents and businesses in the surrounding area to review any available security camera, surveillance, or doorbell camera footage recorded during the early morning hours of Friday.

"Investigators are particularly interested in footage that may have captured suspicious activity, individuals attempting to enter vehicles, or the Chrysler 300 traveling in the area before the crash," police said.

Anyone with relevant information or video footage is asked to contact Officer Larsen at larsen@nbpolicect.org or at (203) 484-2703.

Police also offered thanks to the community.

"The North Branford Police Department would like to thank the community for its assistance and cooperation throughout this investigation," they wrote. "We also extend our sincere appreciation to the first responders and emergency personnel who worked at the scene, as well as the residents and motorists directly affected by the road closures, traffic delays, and other challenges associated with the investigation."
