Heads-Up For Motorists: North Branford Fire Department Has Water Shuttle Drill Set For Nov. 16

The NBFD will conduct a water shuttle drill in the Sea Hill Road neighborhood Monday, Nov. 16, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT—The North Branford Fire Department will be conducting a water shuttle drill in the Sea Hill Road neighborhood Monday, Nov. 16, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

A water shuttle drill is a "fire service training exercise that practices moving large volumes of water from a distant source (like a lake, river, or remote hydrant) to a fire scene using mobile tankers (tenders) and portable dump tanks," according to Firehouse.

Residents traveling through the area are asked to use caution, as fire apparatus and personnel will be operating in and near the roadway throughout the drill.

"No roads will be closed, but we ask that motorists remain alert and drive carefully while traveling through the area," fire officials said.

The fire department provided a map for the planned route our apparatus will follow during the exercise.

Fire officials said those with questions should contact the department through Facebook or through its website at www.northbranfordfire.com.

"We appreciate your patience, cooperation, and continued support as we train to strengthen our skills, improve our readiness, and better serve the North Branford community," fire officials said. "Thank you for helping us keep our community safe."
