Bucket List

We all have to "kick the bucket" one day, do you have a must-do list before you go?

Do you have a Bucket List? If you have never heard of it, it’s a list of things you want to do before you die. I had never even contemplated doing one before I got sick, but you take stock of your life and really does make you wonder what you want to accomplish.

I think my list is fairly short and really they have been lifelong dreams of mine. Some people dream of adrenaline rushes, but I have already parasailed over the Mediterranean Sea, zip lined through the treetops, swam with dolphins and even rappelled down a cliff.

What I really want to do is to go to Australia and snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef. Another wish of mine is to write a novel and to have it published; I even have characters and a plot. I just need to find time to sit down and start.  Who knows, maybe it would end up being a bestseller and I will have the money to do everything else on my list!

My husband is about to accomplish one of the things on his Bucket List–he is signed up to run a marathon. I was surprised when he told me this was on his list, the training schedule is grueling and the idea of running for 26.2 miles is mind-boggling to me.

I don’t run for a couple of reasons and would only run if my life was in danger or the building was on fire, so I don’t understand this being on his list! My idea of exercise is to have fun and enjoy the rush from the endorphins afterwards. I don’t see that happening after running that far.

He decided if he was going to take on such a run, he would also use the opportunity to raise awareness of my personal marathon; my . He is raising money for The Brain Science Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds research into the treatment and prevention of primary brain tumors.

He has other things on his Bucket List–some things he has done, like seeing a Space Shuttle launch. He also has things I would actually want to do with him, like retire to Anguilla. As for the marathon, I am not running, but I will be there at the finish line, cheering him on!
