North Branford Hockey Shuts Out New Milford 3-0 to Earn a Spot in the Quarterfinals!!

North Branford Hockey team shutout New Milford in the first round of the tournament 3-0! The T-Birds take on Newtown Friday, March 8th at 7:00pm in Milford! Please come out and support the T-Birds!!

The North Branford hockey team, the 9th seed in the tournament bracket, shut out 8th-seeded New Milford 3-0! North Branford ended its regular season with a record of 12-7-1 and New Milford had a regular season record of 13-5-2.

The T-Birds played an excellent game. Nick Johnson, Nik Castaldi and Mark Russo scored for the T-Birds. The first period ended in a 0-0 tie. In the second period, Nick Johnson scored. In the third period, Nik Castaldi and Mark Russo added goals to the scoreboard.

Goalie Kyle Saroka had a solid game and a shutout – congrats to Kyle!! Dylan Podbielski, Nik Castaldi, Nick Johnson and Alec Martone all played an outstanding game! The T-Birds' defensive line had a very solid game!

This was an exciting, action-filled game. Many T-Birds fans traveled to Canterbury High School for this game and it was great to see the stands packed.

The T-Birds now move on to the quarterfinals vs. Newtown at 7 p.m. in Milford on Friday, March 8. The T-Birds played Newtown in the regular season and Newtown came away with a 4-2 win.

Newtown is the 17th seed and ended the regular season with a record of 10-10. No. 17 seed Newtown defeated the No. 1 seed Amity 2-1. The T-Birds have been practicing hard for this game. Please come out and support the T-Birds as they take on Newtown!
