Thank You Northford/North Branford!

December 8th was a great day for Northford/North Branford!

Wow, what a day December 8 turned out to be. First I got to join the parents, relatives and friends of the football team down in the center of Northford to cheer the boys on their journey to Rentschler Field for the Class S State Championship.

Then I traveled with the Thunderbird Cheerleaders up to the stadium and got to meet Bob Maxon and Brad Drazen from NBC CT at the drop point for their toy drive. The news crew was terrific and they were nice enough to film the squad for a live clip that was aired on the morning and evening news. MANY thanks to the Northford/North Branford residents who generously donated toys for that drive – I saw a lot of familiar faces there!

After a VERY exciting game, I got to go home and work on the 14 table runners that I had to get done in time for Christmas (and a bit of a nap in the bargain).

I had 3 thoughts on the game after it was over:

  1. The boys had a terrific season and under the tutelage of Coach Basil and the assistant coaches, they got to play at State while everyone else stayed home
  2. It was a hard-fought game and I think Ansonia sat up and took notice that this team was not a push over
  3. The fan turnout was amazing and it was just so nice to be a part of an exciting season

I included some amateur pictures of the Thunderbird cheerleaders for your enjoyment since Tom and Max Preps had done a great job of taking pictures of the boys.
