Burglar Stole Jewelry, Credit Cards From Home: North Branford Police

Police say the accused was arrested on Friday.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Police announced an arrest in a burglary of a local home back in June where credit cards and jewelry were stolen. Police said in June, a resident of Twin Lakes Road reported a forced burglary to her home.

The homeowner reported her home was ransacked with jewelry and credit cards taken from her bedroom, police said. Detectives identified a suspect, and obtained an arrest warrant for Steven Aberg, 28, of Libson, police said.

On Friday, Detectives arrested Aberg and charged him with third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny, credit card theft, second-degree criminal trespass, identity theft and illegal use of a credit card.

Aberg is currently in custody of the Department of Correction. A multi-jurisdictional search for Aberg ended after a pursuit in Waterbury on July 11 by both the Connecticut State Police and Waterbury Police, police said. Aberg is a suspect in multiple residential burglaries in Connecticut and Rhode Island, police said.
