Award-winning design build residential landscape construction and maintenance company is seeking experienced, driven, passionate Horticultural Crew Leaders with gardening and leadership expertise to join our Maintenance Division.

As one of our Horticultural Crew Leader you will have an incredible opportunity to manage your crew of horticulturists and garden on some of the most beautiful and prestigious landscapes in the New Haven County area.

Responsibilities:
Gardening
• Installation and maintenance of woody, perennial, and annual plant material, including deadheading, cutbacks, dividing, fertilizing, etc.
• Hand pruning of shrubs and small trees.
• Container and annual bed design and planting.
• Outdoor holiday decorating.
• General landscaping and groundskeeping.

Communication & Collaboration
• Facilitate flow of information between the field and account managers.
• Ensure account managers are always fully apprised of activities on their properties.

• Maintain communication with clients while on their property .

Planning
• Ensure your crew is prepared for your daily tasks: equipment & tools, plant material, etc.

Employee Management
• Serve as the direct supervisor to your team of horticulturists, training and coaching them to execute to our horticultural standards.
• Provide feedback to maintenance team leadership regarding individual crew performance during review periods.

Education, training, experience:

Experience:
• Prefer Bachelors degree in a landscape/horticultural field or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years experience estate gardening.
• Supervisory experience.

General Requirements:
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Good physical condition with an ability to lift 40lbs.
