Connecticut March Madness, Make Your Picks!

Honestly, who among us has a perfect bracket?

Log in, put on your fortune telling hat and give us your picks for who will face off in the Men's and Women's teams in the National Championship game. 

Both the Connecticut Women's and Men's teams have dribbled into the Final Four, making it the ninth time in NCAA history a school has had dual representation in basketball. UConn now accounts for three of those entries, both teams made the Final Four in 2004, 2009 and this year.

Could the Huskies win both the Men's and Women's tournaments? Rare, but not as rare as you may think. Connecticut was the third school ever to sweep collegiate basketball in 2004 with both teams taking home national titles. The University of Central Missouri was the first to accomplish that feat in 1984 followed by Iowa's Northwestern College in 2001. 

Here's a quick reminder of who's left in the 2011 tournaments:

In the Men's Basketball Tournament Elite Eight, Southwest region powerhouse and No. 1 seed Kansas was upset by a Cinderella-ish Virginia Commonwealth University. No. 11 seed VCU will now take on No. 8 seed Butler, Saturday at 6:09 p.m. 

First team All-American Kemba Walker and his Huskies squeaked by Arizona in the Elite Eight. Coach Jim Calhoun's No. 3 seeded Connecticut will take on No. 4 seed Kentucky, Saturday at 8:49 p.m.

In the Women's tournament, Notre Dame and Stanford were first to break into the Final Four. Connecticut is looking to keep up its annual dominance after blowing by No. 2 seed Duke. The Huskies will take on Notre Dame on Sunday at 9 p.m. Stanford and Texas A&M will play Sunday's early game, tip-off 7 p.m.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced he is declaring Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3 as “Husky Weekend” in the State of Connecticut, in honor of both the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams playing in the Final Four of the 2011 NCAA Basketball Tournaments this weekend.

“While sports fans across the country will be watching what happens in Houston and Indianapolis this weekend, we need to let the nation know that this is UConn Country,” Governor Malloy said.  “I urge everyone to put on your blue and white, wear your favorite Huskies gear, and show the country the pride that Connecticut has for its UConn Huskies.”

Governor Malloy will extend Husky Weekend through Tuesday if either or both teams make it to the championship games.  The UConn men play the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday night, while the UConn women will play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Sunday night.
