Connecticut Woman Gives Birth After Being Seriously Injured in Interstate 95 Accident
Tragically, the woman's friend died driving her to the hospital.

Most people are aware that there was a fatal accident earlier this week that shut down Interstate 95 in New Haven by Exit 46.
What most people don’t know is the really unique circumstances of that accident.
Gwendolyn Buskie, 53, was killed in the accident, but what most people don’t know is that she was driving her close friend, Vera Mercer, to the hospital to have a baby, WTNH News 8 reports.

On the way, police say Buskie’s car was hit by a tractor trailer and then pushed into the back of another one.
Mercer, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she gave birth to a healthy baby, Cameran Faith.
