Coronavirus North Branford: Town Has First Death
A female between the ages of 30 and 40-years-old died from coronavirus complications, according to town officials.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — North Branford reported its first confirmed coronavirus-related fatality. The victim was a female between the ages of 30 and 40-years-old.
The town had its first confirmed coronavirus case six days ago; as of Friday there have been eight confirmed cases. Nearby Branford has 28 confirmed cases.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that a North Branford resident has died as a result of her contracting COVID-19," said Mayor Robert Viglione. "This terrible virus has taken a life in our community and that loss of life gives each of us pause and fills us with sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time."

Town Manager Michael Paulhus also expressed his sympathies to the victim's family and encouraged people to take precautions seriously.
“We must remain diligent in exercising the prudent recommendations to slow the spread of the virus. These measures will help protect our community against a widespread outbreak," he said. "Our strength as a community is galvanized when tragedy occurs. The loss of a fellow resident underscores the fact that we must be united in taking preventative measures to protect our community.”

North Branford has closed all its public buildings for in-person appointments. Outdoor recreational playgrounds and park/recreational facilities have also been closed.
