Delaney's Restaurant is Engulfed in Heavy Smoke and Flames

Heavy smoke and fire is pouring out of Delaney’s Restaurant & Tap Roomon Whalley Avenue as of 8 p.m., the New Haven Register reports.

Delaney’s is a popular restaurant/bar in New Haven, and attracts people from all over New Haven County. An electrical short is believed to be responsible for the fire, the Register reports.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, the Register reports. Firefighters were able to rescue a cat, the Register reports.

WFSB 3 reports traffic is closed in the area and there were live electrical wires in the street.
