Deputy Chief Accused of Misconduct
A Bethany attorney will represent Deputy Police Chief Michael Doody when he appears before the Board of Police Commissioners next week.
Deputy Police Chief Michael Doody will appear before the Board of Police Commissioners next week to respond to allegations he violated department rules.
The New Haven Register reported this morning Doody had retained Norm Bettis of Bethany as a defense attorney for the hearing, which was scheduled for yesterday morning but postponed. Police officials declined to comment on the nature of the alleged offense in the same article, but the Register's sources said he is accused of "untruthfulness."
Currently the Town Council's deputy mayor, Doody has also served as its mayor and as a regular member of both the Agriculture Commission and Republican Town Committee. He runs the popular Doody's Totoket Inn pub on Foxon Road.
