Did Sunday's Flooding Cause Home, Business Damage? File Survey With CT Emergency Management: Town Manager

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — In a message to the community, North Branford Town Manager Dr. Scott Nicol encouraged residents whose home or business sustained damage during the heavy rains last Sunday, to complete a Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection survey.

"By doing so, we can get an accurate financial assessment of the damages sustained and increase the chances that property owners and the Town could be eligible for partial reimbursement in the event of a formal disaster declaration," he noted.

The agencies are asking those whose homes or businesses sustained damage as a result of the torrential and damaging rains to complete the survey on damage from the September 13th flooding event.

This survey aims to help state and local emergency management officials across Connecticut identify and understand damages that have occurred during recent natural disaster activity.

This is an information-gathering survey only. The information will be used to determine if the state is eligible for any post-disaster programs through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and/or the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Submitting a report does not guarantee assistance, but it ensures impacts and needs are documented.
