Don’t Forget to Take Out the Trash – In Your New Toters
John's Refuse's new automated trash collection starts today in North Branford.
North Branford's new automated trash pickup is underway. John's Refuse delivered most of the new toters last week and began automated collection with this morning's pickup. In Interim Town Manager Bonnie Therrien's weekly report (full report will run tomorrow), she noted that delivery of the toters was a day behind.
With the new single-stream recycling barrels, residents can place all recyclable items into the blue barrels (the brown barrels are for general trash). Not sure what you can recycle? Check out the attached PDFs.

When placing the barrels at the curb, John's Refuse requests you "keep the lids closed and place the barrels as close to the curb as possible oriented as shown on the barrel lids. Leave a little space between the Recycling Barrel and the Trash Barrel."
In addition to information about the new trash pickup, the PDFs also highlight other dates to remember, including trash holidays and weeks desginated for scrap metal collection and leaf collection. Bulky waste can be put out with your toters at any time.
