Last week Fuzion Medical Aesthetic Boutique of Branford had an accessory fashion show to benefit Dress for Success. This organization has helped more than 550,000 women around the world since its inception. Fuzion is accepting donations of new or lightly used career handbags for Dress for Success until this Friday. Why not “Dare to reach out your hand into the darkness, to pull another hand into the light?” Norman B. Rice. Here are a few things to know about Dress for Success.

Mission

According to the Dress for Success website, the goal is to “promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.”

Career Tips

Dress for Success has guidelines to help women every step along the way in procuring a job including training, resume and cover letter writing, and honing special skills. For more information, click here.

Contacting Dress for Success

There are two Dress for Success affiliates in Connecticut, one in Mid-Fairfield County, the other in Hartford. So far they have helped more than 8,500 women find jobs and improve their lives and the lives of their families.
