East Haven Woman Killed In Tuesday Night North Branford Crash: PD

North Branford police said, despite life-saving measures by first responders, Rebecca Buecher died at the hospital as a result of injuries.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —Despite life-saving measures by first responders, an East Haven woman died as a result of injuries from a crash in North Branford Tuesday evening, police reported.

North Branford Police Department Deputy Chief James Lovelace confirmed the death of Rebecca Buecher, 56, in an email to Patch.

In a Facebook post Wednesday afternoon, North Branford police said it and first responders from both the North Branford and Branford fire departments responded to a multi-vehicle accident with injuries on the Branford Road near Valley Road at around 6:20 p.m.

Police said emergency responders "performed life-saving measures by extricating" a driver from one of the vehicles. Injured drivers were transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with "serious and life-threatening injuries," police said.

"Unfortunately we are deeply saddened to report that even with the heroic work of our first responders," one of the drivers died as a result of their injures at the hospital, police wrote, adding: "Our heart goes out to all those involved, especially the friends and family of the deceased."
