Celebrate America's 250th birthday in nearby Branford with one of the shoreline's favorite summer traditions. Head to Branford Point and Parker Memorial Park for a spectacular free fireworks display over the water, with festivities beginning at 9 p.m. and music and beachside fun available before the show.

Independence Day Stories/Craft

Young children can celebrate America's 250th birthday at Atwater Memorial Library with a special Independence Day storytime and craft activity. Kids will enjoy patriotic stories before creating their own colorful fireworks-inspired paintings to take home.
Madison Fireworks
When: Thursday, July 2, 2026, 9:30 p.m.
Where: On a barge moored south of West Wharf Beach pier, Madison
Admission: Free
About 15 minutes from North Branford, the Madison Fireworks tradition draws residents and visitors to the shoreline for an unforgettable Independence Day celebration. Launched from a barge off West Wharf, the annual display illuminates the waterfront and offers a festive evening made possible through the support of community donations.
America 250 Celebration
When: Friday, July 3, 2026, 6 p.m.
Where: Orange Fairgrounds | 525 Orange Center Rd, Orange
Admission: Free
About 25 minutes away in Orange, America's 250th anniversary will be marked with an evening of patriotic entertainment and community celebration. Guests can enjoy live music, colonial-era reenactments, student presentations and a spectacular fireworks show featuring 250 ceremonial volleys and a special USA-themed grand finale.
Hartford Bonanza
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 12–10 p.m.
Where: Bushnell Park | 1 Jewell St, Hartford

Worth the 45-minute drive from North Branford, Hartford Bonanza 2026 will fill Bushnell Park with music, food, art and family-friendly activities in celebration of America's 250th anniversary. The free citywide Fourth of July event invites thousands to gather in the heart of Connecticut's capital for community festivities capped off by a fireworks display.

About 25 minutes away in Wallingford, The Gilded Curtain is hosting an adults-only celebration in honor of America's 250th anniversary. Designed for guests 21 and older, the event features an open bar, light bites and an evening of mingling and entertainment as attendees commemorate the nation's historic milestone.
