Fuel Assistance Qualifying Levels Increased, Applications Open Dec. 19

Income thresholds​ include, but aren't limited to, the elderly, disabled, working families, or individuals facing a financial crisis.

For those eligible, Operation Fuel provides a one-time grant per household, per year for deliverable fuel oil, natural gas, electricity, kerosene, wood, propane, pellets, and other energy sources.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —Previously capped at 60 percent of state median income, this year's Operation Fuel levels have been increased to 100 percent of state median income. That means, for example, a household of three earning up to $107,052 annually can now be eligible.

New applications will be accepted when the Winter/Spring Program season opens Dec. 19.

The new qualifying income thresholds include, but are not limited to, the elderly, disabled, working families, or individuals facing a financial crisis.
