The YMCA and the Parade Committee are not the only non-profit organizations that Tim has been involved with. In his “spare” time, Tim has been, and still is, involved with the Wallingford Kiwanis Club, serving as President of the club in 2008-09; the mantra of the Kiwanian is: “To Serve the Children of the World, One Child, One Community, at a Time”. Tim has also been a member of the Wallingford, CT Protective and Benevolent Order of the ELK Lodge #1365 since 2004, serving on the House Committee in the 2004-2005 year. Since 2005, Tim has been an active Board member of the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail Advisory Committee, which is working on creating usable trail along the Quinnipiac River in Wallingford, which will promote healthy exercise in the community. A mile and a quarter of Trail has already been completed with another mile and a quarter ready for construction.

Tim’s Irish parade roots go all the way back to when his Grand Father, William F. Gallogly, Sr., petitioned in 1955 to restart the New Haven Parade, a parade that has its origin in the New Haven Irish Community in 1842. The first of the Modern Parade was held in March of 1956, and Tim was born on August 31st of the same year. Tim Grew up around parade business with his Grandfather, Father, Mother, Sister, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, all involved with the continued success of the Parade. Tim is now a member of all four of the Sponsoring Irish Societies of the Parade: The Knights of Saint Patrick; The Ancient Order of Hibernians, serving as Vice President from 2010 to 2013; The Irish American Community Center, serving as Grounds and Set-up Chair for the annual Connecticut Irish Festival, in North Haven from 2011 to present; and the West Haven Irish American Club.

Tim is very proud to represent the Greater New Haven Irish Community as the 2015 Grand Marshal of The Greater New Haven Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, to be held on March 15th. Tim is even more proud to be representing the Gallogly Family in continuing the family legacy with the Parade. Tim is the first third-generation Grand Marshal – the pinnacle achievement of the Parade Community – with his grandfather, William F. Gallogly, Sr., and his father, William F. Gallogly, Jr., being named Honorary Grand Marshals in 1980 and 1996, respectively.

Tim would like to thank all the members of the Parade Committee for their hard work in putting such a huge event on the streets of New Haven, including Chief-of-Staff Patrick Smith, Secretary Clifford Lynch, Chairman Colleen Hines, Coordinator Petisia Adger, Treasurer Kevin A. Smith, and all those who rose to chair all the fundraising events throughout the year. Slainté!
